Route 50 Is Getting Widened
October 5th, 2011 Categories: Dulles South, Local Issues
If you live or commute through the Dulles South area which mainly consist of Route 50 west, you know that traffic can be terrible at certain times of day. With the additional communities being built in Chantilly, Aldie, and the future hospital, is vital that route 50 is widened. My friend over at Gateway To Loudoun made me aware that the construction on this widening would actually begin today and be completed in 3 years.
The project will widen the 4 lanes that begin at route 28 in Fairfax County to 6 lanes all the way to Polland Rd. in Chantilly. It is estimated to cost $100 Million. Who knew asphalt cost so much? Nevertheless, we will all be thankful when it is complete.
I created a google image to show you where the work will take place.

Miller and Smith’s Noble Pointe Collection At Brambleton
September 29th, 2011 Categories: Brambleton, Community Of The Week
Miller and Smith is building a really unique and open floor plan with an English cottage feel in Brambleton known as the “Noble Pointe Collection.” The good news is that the homes are currently priced from the low $500′s to the $560′s. There are three floor plans that range from 2800 to 3000 square feet in space on the main two levels, depending on your choice of elevation.
I am really impressed with this series of homes as I feel that Miller and Smith has built another product that caters to a buyer that is not looking to be overwhelmed with rarely used rooms like a formal living room. Don’t get me wrong, the home is layed out in a way that it feels very open and full of light. However, it feels “PRACTICAL.” Not a word used a lot to describe a Northern VA home style.
Here are couple photos of the community I took…

The Bottom Of The Market And Where We Are Now
September 21st, 2011 Categories: Market Statistics
Every year I attend an economic summit with some of the best minds in our national and local economy. One of the most interesting pieces of data that I saw this year was a chart showing where we are since we hit the bottom statistically in 2009. Disclaimer… Be careful to not look to closely at these percentages as they are county wide numbers. Your specific property may have not followed the exacted trend of your county.
