The Real Estate Apps I Use The Most (Android and Apple)
January 16th, 2012 Categories: For Fun, opinion
Real estate applications have become very popular since so many people now have smart phones. While I have had a few downloaded on my phone like zillow, century21, and one from zip realty, there are only a
couple that I really like.
My favorite real estate application, which is free and works for both devices, is the Century 21 application. The built in GPS feature pulls up homes around your exact location showing you everything that is currently available for sale, for rent, and from every brokerage. It does have a built in search function if you want to narrow down or expand your search.
The problem with almost every application on the app market like zillow, realtor, trulia, homes, etc… is that the material is outdated. In other words, you are viewing homes that are no longer on the market. These sites continue to show homes that are under contract or that sold months back making them a waste of your time.
THE BEST OPTION… if you are wanting to use a mobile search tool is to find a really good MLS site that has a mobile search and use your online browser to view it. (Warning- Shameless Plug Coming) I have that site and it is not this one. I have a site known as JonathanBunn.com that has an incredible mobile search feature!
The great part for you is that the homes shown are actually available! Simply bookmark it in your phone and use this. You honestly won’t be disappointed. Go ahead, check it out now and let me know what you think.

OneLoudoun Is Coming!
January 10th, 2012 Categories: Ashburn, Loudoun County, OneLoudoun

With the previous bankruptcy of OneLoudoun and the slow roll out of the Loudoun portion of the Metro, it is very hard for locals to put their hope in the future of our area being redeemed through by a future project. Understood… The current economy has made most of us very timid in believing too big.
I am still asked quite often if the OneLoudoun project is even going to happen. Believe it or not it is. The infrastructure is there and ready for development. This multi-purpose massive development, will be an 8-10 year project which should bring fresh life and appreciation to north Ashburn and hopefully better road development to route 7! Here is a video that will give you a glimpse of what is coming!

Ugly MLS Photos: Why No Photo Is Sometimes Better
January 6th, 2012 Categories: Worst MLS Photos
Around ninety percent of buyers begin their home search online. It is very frustrating when there are no photos to view. The reason that most agents do not post photos is that they are lazy. However, there are scenarios when it is not in the sellers best interest to have online photos. Here are a few examples…

Two Tips For Two Twelve
January 3rd, 2012 Categories: Market Statistics, opinion
Real Estate is often the chatter around the office water cooler. It is one of those subjects where every one sounds like an expert and every one leaves feeling more fearful than before the conversation began. I want to offer you two tips for this new year that will give you more sleep at night and help you know more than the guy with all of the answers…
- Know Your Local Market!
There is nothing more local than real estate. WHAT IS HAPPENING ELSEWHERE IS NOT HAPPENING TO YOUR AREA. You would be a fool to make an investment decision based on some other market’s activity. In other words… Stop listening to CNN’s forecast of the real estate market for 2012! Find out what is happening locally. Where? Start by watching my monthly videos updates on the right hand side of my page listed under MARKET STATS!
- Understand That Your Home Is Not Your Investment!
All of us want our homes to increase in value. We want to feel that we were able to get a good deal that will pay off in the future. The problem is that many of us begin to view our homes as the nest egg that we are going to ride in to retirement like a lucky lottery ticket. When we view our home this way, we loose sleep at night watching the market and upset when we see our neighbors home listed as a foreclosure or short sale knowing that we just got hosed. Listen to me!
Make improvements in your home that increase it’s value like an investor. But unless you are planning to flip or rent your home out… stop thinking of it as an investment! It is not. It is your home. Enjoy it!
