A Real Estate Certification That Matters
There are a lot of certifications out there for agents to achieve. Most consumers such as yourself have not clue what they mean nor do you care. You are simply looking for an agent who can get the job done with excellence.
I have never been a certification chaser since taking a few hour course never overrides one’s experience. However, there is one area of the market that I have spend hundreds of dollars this year in additional training, and that is in the area of “short sales.” While I would have liked to believe that the distressed side of our market would have dissipated by now, I am starting to believe that we have just opened the door.
The truth is that very few agents know how to successfully handle these complicated transactions. This is part of the reasons why many of these transactions have taken so long or get denied. Our market is in a major shift, so to rely on yesterdays tactics for selling homes or working with an agent with no experience or education is a major mistake.
