Could This Be The End Of The Open House?

Categories: Real Estate News Posted on July 31st, 2009

Open House SignThere are many ways to advertise for an open house.  However, when it comes down to it, people show up because they see a sign on the road.  This is changing in Loudoun County…

Loudoun has enforced and made permanent their new rules about signs being placed on the side of roads.  The rule- No more signs without permits.  This will affect more than open houses, where signs are only up for a 3-4 hours max.  This law will also affect churches with signs up on Sunday, political signage, and business signs.

Nevertheless, without signs the effectiveness of an open house not off of a main road may become a thing of the past.  To many agents, that is okay since the effectiveness of an open house in selling a home is not great.
