    How To Save A Few Hundred Dollars When Buying

    You don’t have a choice when buying a home with a mortgage whether or not you will purchase your lender title insurance.  However, you do have a choice if you purchase it for yourself. 

    Title insurance is usually one of the most expensive fee’s involved in closing cost and can cost you hundreds too thousands of dollars.  Since most people opt to purchase it for themselves here is a tip that can usually save you a few hundred dollars when you buy a home….

    Title insurance companies typically offer a “re-issue rate” when they see that the home previously had title insurance purchased for it.  They may offer a 20-30% discount for the new policy.  Therefore, have your Realtor ask the current homeowner to provide a copy of their current policy to the settlement company before settlement as a courtesy.  Most owners will and you will save yourself a few hundred dollars…
