There are few things more important to a parent than the quality of education their child will receive. This can play a major factor in deciding where one decides to live or… not live. With Loudoun County being one of the fastest growing and wealthiest counties in the country, the educational system is a top priority with local decision makers.

With all of the people I assist in relocating to the area, I find a common question to be, “Are there any good sources available that can help me understand your local school system.” I have done the research and I feel your pain. Good information, but in too many places. Here is a little help…

Loudoun School Highlights:

Governor Tim Kaine gives 17 Loudoun schools of 162 state schools the “Governor’s Award for Educational Excellence.”
There were 34 other Loudoun schools that were honored on other levels.
7 Loudoun County Schools ranked in the top 1,000 schools in the Country by Newsweek Magazine.
Loudoun is the fifth largest school division in VA with just over 59,000 students.
In two major SOL categories of English and mathematics performance, Loudoun outscored neighboring Fairfax County students in six student subgroups and tied them in two. Loudoun outperformed Prince William County AYP in ten subgroup categories and tied in one (taken from loudouni.com- author Julia Stewart).
